Götaverken Miljö is located in Göteborg,
Sweden, and has its origin in the Götaverken companies,
a large industrial group consisting of shipyards and boiler
manufacturers. Our office is well-situated in the expansive
Lundbystrand area on Hisingen, where Götaverken previously
conducted their shipbuilding operations.
The Company
was founded in 1988 and is since January 4, 2010 owned by Babcock & Wilcox Vølund A/S .
Milestones
from our history
- 1841:
Alexander Keiller starts a mechanical workshop for the
manufacturing of a.o. steam engines, turbines and bridge
elements.
- 1866: The
first steamer "Uddeholm" is launched.
- 1906:
Keiller sells the company and the new owner uses the name
Götaverken for the first time.
- 1968: The
last ship is delivered and the business now consists of
manufacturing of large power and recovery boilers.
- 1985: The
Environmental division is formed within the company.
- 1988:
Götaverken Miljö AB is formed as a separate entity with
focus on flue gas cleaning and heat pumps.
- 1998:
Götaverken Miljö AB is acquired by The Sixth Swedish
National Pension Fund.
- 2001: The development and marketing
of the ADIOX®-technology for dioxin removal
commences.
- 2010: Götaverken Miljö AB is acquired by Babcock & Wilcox Vølund A/S.
