The end of another evenful year
For Götaverken Miljö, 2010 began with the company gaining a new owner. A hectic and exciting first year has passed, which included integrating Götaverken Miljö with Babcock & Wilcox Vølund and co-ordinating our businesses. B&W
Vølund is one of the world's leading suppliers of equipment and technologies designed to convert household waste and biomass into thermal energy. Götaverken Miljö has been operating within the same business areas for many years. Our core products, flue gas cleaning for waste-fired boilers and energy recovery, match very well with B&W Vølund's product portfolio . There are clear synergy effects and both companies now see scope for offering customers complete solutions for incineration of waste. I am happy to state that our collaboration with B&W Vølund has already achieved success, with contracts for deliveries of new systems for the Filborna plant in Helsingborg and for Landskrona in Sweden.

Highlights of deliveries in 2010
In June, we received an order for an ADIOX® dioxin absorber from KHK St.Gallen in Switzerland. This is our very first delivery to Switzerland. The installation was carried out successfully and completed according to plan before the end of the year. Our delivery to Renova, Gothenburg, involving an upgrade of lines 1 and 2 at the Sävenäs facility, was also concluded as planned in December. During the year we noted increased interest in absorption chillers on the Swedish market. Växjö Energi ordered two chillers and Vattenfall Heat Uppsala ordered one with a cooling tower. These projects were partiallly delivered in 2010 and will be commissioned in spring 2011. We have also made a number of deliveries of  ADIOX dioxin removal material to both existing and new customers in Europe.

In our order portfolio

Among the orders received during 2010, I would particularly like to mention the Filborna project. We were susccessful in securing the contract for flue gas condensing system and absorption heat pumps for Öresundskraft's prestigiuos new Filborna plant in Helsingborg, Sweden. We accepted contract terms requiring a very high level of energy recovery and very low emissions. This ensured a good evaluation and played a large part in securing the order for us.

Retained profitability

We were still feeling the effects of the global recesion in 2010. A certain level of caution has been observed among our customers, and previously planned conversions and new constructions of facilities have been postponed. I am therefore very pleased to be able to confirm that our efforts during the year have nevertheless yielded a satisfactory financial result. We are showing revenue-recognised sales of of SEK 77,649 million and an operating profit of SEK 7,272 million.

Future possibilities

We want to continue to offer our customers innovative and cost-effective solutions that help to reduce negative environmental impact. We are therefore conducting our development work in collaboration with specialists within our technical field, such as Waste Refinery, and Swedish and foreign research institutes, such as KIT. One technology that has been developed and marketed by us in this way is RESOXTM for dioxin- and corrosion reduction by sulphur recirculation. We are hoping to be able to deliver our first facility based on RESOX in 2011. We are also looking forward to more in-depth collaboration with our owner and are expecting to see a range of new business opportunities during the year.

An intensive tender period is expected during the spring and we are well prepared. I hope and believe that this work will lead to a successful 2011.
