GMAB has a new owner!
On January 5, 2010, Babcock & Wilcox Vølund A/S announced its acquisition of Götaverken Miljö AB from The Sixth Swedish National Pension Fund. "GMAB fits perfectly into the Babcock & Wilcox Vølund strategy and organisation", says John Veje Olesen, managing director of B&W Vølund.

CEO's comments
For us at Götaverken Miljö the acquisition by Babcock & Wilcox Vølund means that we have got a powerful industrial owner with a well developed international network well suited to support the marketing and sale of our products on new markets.

Calendar
January 26-27:
EBW UK, London.

May 5-6:
WTE, Bremen, Germany.

Demonstration of absorption chiller technology
Local absorption chillers powered by district heating to produce comfort cooling in summer is a profitable method with both environmental and financial gains.

Växjö buys absorption chiller
Just recently Götaverken Miljö received an order for an absorption chiller of 2 MW cooling capacity from Växjö Energi AB (VEAB), Sweden.

SO2 removal delivered
Last December we finalized our delivery of a sulphur dioxide removal plant to a company within the Swedish automotive industry. The flue gas cleaning equipment handles the SO2 in two different gas streams and reduces the acidic emissions to levels well below the environmental permit. The raw gas concentration in one line is extreme and approximately 70 g/Nm3! The 30 MSEK delivery took place on schedule after a successful trial run.

Energy recovery to Halmstad
At the end of 2009 we handed over one absorp-tion heat pump to Halmstads Energi & Miljö, Sweden. The heat pump was part of an energy recovery installation that included an ADIOX® condensing scrubber, supplied last winter. The system is now complete and in full operation giving the customer further energy savings, with performance figures well above the guaranteed ones, thus contributing to reduced impact to the environment from CO2 emissions.

Installation work at Renova Ongoing project
The upgrade of flue gas cleaning lines 1 and 2 at Renova, Göteborg, Sweden, started up in Novem-ber 2009. This installation is part of a larger contract also including line 3, previously delivered in early 2009, involving new ADIOX® scrubbers, a flue gas desulphuring and gypsum precipitation system. Line 1 and 2 will be equipped with new scrubbers containing ADIOX® for efficient dioxin removal. The already low emissions from the plant will now be significantly below existing environmental permit.

Smart solutions underway
In developing new products we have the vision to find cost-efficient, reliable and evironmentally sound solutions. We focus on a flexible design to meet our customers' distinct demands. Our present development work involves both new products and new applications for the ADIOX® technology. Sulphur recirculation is a tool to reduce boiler corrosion and dioxin formation.

New employees in 2009
Sara Moberg has come to us to strengthen our team of qualified process engineers. She has 15 years' of experience from the process industry as maintenance & control engineer.

Peter Hellberg is employed to gradually take on the responsibilities of Wille Brandberg as our new design manager for electrical & instrumen-tation. In the recent 10 years he has worked with electrical, automation, control and monitoring as installation manager and operation engineer.
